Mark Hackard is an independent foreign policy analyst. He earned a BA in Russian Language from Georgetown University and an MA in Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian Studies from Stanford University. He studies the intersection of political culture, religion and strategic issues, which he approaches from a traditionalist-conservative position. Mark joins us to speak about his work at the websites Soul of the East and Espionage History Archive. Our discussion begins with the subject of Russian intelligence history during the Cold War and going all the way back to The Great Game of the 19th century Napoleonic Wars. Mark gives an overview of the coveted resource rich heartland of Russia, a land mass that has been targeted for domination by Western financial oligarchs for millennia.
